GIRL TALK: A VERY Desirous Diva

I have a jealousy problem. I don't know why, but when a guy asks one of my friends out, I get jealous and wonder, "Why didn't he ask me out," even when I don't like the guy! I get jealous even if I see a guy that I know talking to a girl! Why am I feeling this way?

Jealousy doesn’t look good on anyone. Trust me, I’ve been there. It’s completely normal to feel a little bit of jealousy every now and then, but all the time? That’s a bit ridiculous.

Ask yourself why you’re jealous in the first place. Do you really like the guy? Or do you just want the attention? Sometimes jealousy is also a sign of insecurity. Are you happy for your friends when a guy asks your friend out? Or are you too busy being jealous? Try being happy for your friend and whatever you do, definitely try not to let your jealousy get in the way of your friendship.

Instead of getting jealous, get out there. Sitting back and complaining isn’t going to solve anything. Make a list of all the things that are absolutely fabulous about you. Yes, it may sound a little cheesy. But it should help you feel better about what yourself, which will make you feel more confident and less jealous of other girls.

Next time you see a cute guy, try introducing yourself instead of waiting around for him to make the first move. Most importantly, don’t take it personally if a guy doesn’t approach you. The right guy won’t be afraid to ask you out.

Lots of love,
